| | ...Just a quick venting... BIG A&P Lab Test in an hour and I'm quasi-freaking out...It's over the skeletal system and...well...If you want an idea, here's the list of things we have to know and identify (from memory, mind you): *color coded by basic locations...& for easier reading* Osteon*CentralCanal*Lamellae*Lacunae*Canaliculi*Osteocytes*Periosteum*Endosteum*Volkman's Canal*Epiphysis*Diaphysis*Spongy Bone* Compact Bone* Red Marrow* Yellow Marrow* Epiphyseal Line* Medullary Cavity* Articular Cartilage* Growth Zone (of Developing Bone)* Transformation Zone (of Developing Bone)* Osteogenesis Zone (of Developing Bone)* Anterior Fetal Fontanel* Posterior Fetal Fontanel* Sphenoid Fetal Fontanel* Mastoid Fetal Fontanel* Coronal Suture* Sagittal Suture* Lambdoid Suture*Squamous Suture* Frontal Bone* Supraorbital Foramen* Temporal Bone* Zygomatic Process (of the Temporal Bone*) Mandibular Fossa* External Auditory Meatus* Styloid Process* Mastoid Process* Stylomastoid Foramen* Jugular Foramen* Carotid Canal* Internal Auditory Meatus* Petrous Portion* Greater Wings (of the Sphenoid Bone)* Lesser Wings (of the Sphenoid Bone)* Superior Orbital Fissure* Inferior Orbital Fissure* Sella Turcica* Optic Canal* Foramen Rotundum* Foramen Ovale* Foramen Spinosum* Foramen Lacerum* Ethmoid Bone* Crista Galli* Cribriform Plate* Perpendicular Plate* Superior Nasal Concha* Middle Nasal Concha* Inferior Nasal Concha* Vomer Bone* Nasal Bone* Occipital Bone* Foramen Magnum* Occipital Condyle* Hypoglossal Canal* Superior Nuchal Line* Mandible* Ramus* Body* Mandibular Notch* Mandibular Condyle* Coronoid Process* Mandibular Foramen* Maxilla* Palatine Process* Infraorbital Foramen* Palatine Bone* Zygomatic Bone* Lacrimal Bone* Hyoid Bone* Vertebrae* Body of Vertebrae* Spinous Process* Transverse Process* Vertebral Foramen* Pedicle* Lamina* Intervertebral Foramen* Superior Articular Process* Inferior Articular Process* Cervical Vertebrae* Transverse Foramen* Atlas* Axis* Dens* Thoracic Vertebrae* Superior Costal Facet* Inferior Costal Facet* Transverse Costal Facet* Lumbar Vertebrae* Sacrum* Median Sacral Crest* Sacral Foramina* Sacral Hiatus* Coccyx* Sternum* Manubrium* Body* Xiphoid Process* Costal Cartilage* Ribs* Scapula* Spine (of Scapula)* Acromion Process* Coracoid Process* Glenoid Cavity* Medial Border* Lateral Border* Scapular Notch* Supraspinous Fossa* Infraspinous Fossa* Clavicle* Humerus* Head (of Humerus)* Anatomical Neck* Surgical Neck* Greater Tubercle* Lesser Tubercle* Deltoid Tuberosity* Medial Epicondyle* Lateral Epicondyle* Capitulum* Trochlea* Olecranon Fossa* Coronoid Fossa* Ulna* Olecranon Process* Coronoid Process* Trochlear Notch* Radial Notch* Styloid Process (of Ulna)* Radius* Head (of Radius)* Radial Tuberosity* Styloid Process (of Radius)* Carpals* Metacarpals* Phalanges (of Hand)* Pelvis (and whether it's male or female)* Ilium* Iliac Crest* Greater Sciatic Notch* Anterior Superior Iliac Spine* Anterior Inferior Iliac Spine* Posterior Superior Iliac Spine* Posterior Inferior Iliac Spine* Ischium* Ischial Tuberosity* Spine (of Ischium)* Acetabulum* Pubis* Obturator Foramen* Pubic Symphysis* Femur* Head (of Femur)* Fovea Capitis* Greater Trochanter* Lesser Trochanter* Linea Aspera* Medial Condyle* Lateral Condyle* Medial Epicondyle* Lateral Epicondyle* Intercondylar Fossa* Patella* Tibia* Medial Condyle* Lateral Condyle* Intercondylar Eminence* Tibial Tuberosity* Medial Malleolus* Fibula* Lateral Malleolus* Tarsals* Calcaneus* Talus* Metatarsals* Phalanges (of Foot)* Knee Joint* Medial Meniscus* Lateral Meniscus* Anterior Cruciate Ligament* Posterior Cruciate Ligament* Fibular Collateral Ligament* Tibal Collateral Ligament* Hip Joint* Iliofemoral Ligament* Pubofemoral Ligament...and...the Ischiofemoral Ligament! ...So just in case you thought I was overdramatizing before...now you know what I'm up against... (*And in case any of ya'll are curious--Here's some of those locations...*)

...But...yeah...more than a little worried...On one hand I think I know them fairly well, but on the other hand, I know myself well enough to know that when I actually have to sit down with that blank sheet of paper w/ 1-2 minutes per station, there's every possibility that I'll totally blank. It's one thing to know the answer when someone says, "Okay, where's the olecranon process?" But it's a whole 'nother story pulling "intercondylar eminence" out of your brain unaided, getting the spelling and location right when you're strapped for time and your grade's on the line, ya know? ...I hope I can do this... Wish me luck! ~Peace~ ^^
